About Greg Farley

I am the Director of Strategic Energy Programs for MD Energy Advisors. My role will focus on serving MDEA\'s existing clients and expanding our work with campuses in higher education, government, and more. As Director of Sustainability at George Mason University, I led a team focused on integrating sustainable practices across the university\'s operations, and included sustainability planning, assessment, and reporting. I emphasized collaboration with faculty, staff, students, and external stakeholders.Prior to George Mason University, I was the inaugural Director of Sustainability for Washington College in Chestertown, MD; and Professor of Biological Science and Director of the Center for Leadership in Environmental Education at Chesapeake College in Wye Mills, MD. I have dedicated my career to advancing sustainability through tangible actions, including:* energy efficiency and renewable energy development* waste diversion, material reuse, and circular economics* local and sustainable food production, food rescue, and food security* sustainable purchasing and contracting* watershed improvements, stormwater management, reforestation, and rewilding* integrating cutting-edge research into operational practiceI am a scientist by training, and I understand the multiple, interdependent challenges of our time: climate change, habitat loss, biodiversity loss, and more.
