About Greg Caito
Greg Caito is one of the top closers in government sales taking nascent SLED cloud and AI businesses to an explosive level of growth. Over the years he has closed some of the most significant and mission critical projects making a difference for his customers. The innate ability to translate new technologies to elected officials and state executives and marry it to their goals is a cornerstone of Greg’s skill set. His focus is on projects that improve lives. Prior to Databricks, Greg led the most critical SLED pursuits at major cloud and services companies. At Google, Greg grew NY into the largest revenue account in public sector. He credits his team and especially his partnerships with amazing cloud engineers during his career. This has resulted in significant recognition:In January, 2025 Greg was recognized by NY City and State Magazine “50 over 50” in government and technology. In December, 2024 Greg closed the first ever cloud enterprise agreement with NYS ITS and won the values impact award from Google covered here:https://its.ny.gov/press-release/its-and-google-public-sector-announce-partnershipIn December, 2022 Greg was named by City and State Magazine as one of the “New York Responsible 100 based on his body of work. In April, 2020 Greg was presented with the Google Stratosphere award based on work at the NYS DOL. In March, 2020 he was named as one of NY City and State Magazine’s “Gov Tech power 50”. On top of this, Greg was awarded a Google top sales award each year from 2020 thru 2024. Greg led Google cloud to their first major success at the NYS DOL UI system and the landmark Excluded Worker Fund. Greg sold the AI chatbot Perkins. He led the sales effort which resulted in Google workspace becoming the collaboration platform for Governor Hochul’s office.In Oct, 2025, Governor Hochul announced “AI pro” powered by Gemini which was Greg’s landmark AI deal providing access to AI for the state workforce. At Oracle, Greg sold the NYS financial system (SFS), NYS pension system (NYSLRS), and the justice center Crm. The Justice Center for Greg is an enduring tribute to his son Henry. Greg was the top salesperson at Oracle winning top CRM sales awards in 2016, 2015, 2013 and 2012. He also won the award for top ERP representative in 2008 after closing the largest ERP/HCM project at Oracle.At IBM, he was co-creator of “Verify-NY”-a Medicaid fraud detection system. This effort earned coverage in national press. Prior to sales roles, Greg was a leader with NY government and has intricate knowledge of agency procurement and budget process
