A successful lifelong entrepreneur, Greg Michaels has bought, sold and started over two dozen companies in the areas of Energy, Telecommunications and Real Estate Development. In 2014, Mr. Michaels founded Monkey Island LNG, a company designed to help fill the global demand for LNG. His leadership and vision have led to award nominations, both domestically and internationally. As Chairman and CEO of Monkey Island LNG, he has spoken on LNG issues internationally and is a published author.Mr. Michaels completed the Entrepreneur Program at the USC Marshall School of Business. After his time at USC, Mr. Michaels pursued a career as a professional tennis player. Mr. Michaels is a national champion and still competes currently. Mr. Michaels has capitalized on his ability to build successful teams by identifying personal strengths in individuals and further developing them. He has employed thousands of people and is well respected by his management teams and personnel. In addition to his business interests, Mr. Michaels is a dedicated family man and has a passion for his community combined with a sense of civic responsibility.    At its corporate headquarters in Houston, Texas, Monkey Island LNG is a developer of a $6.7 billion natural gas liquefaction facility and LNG export terminal on Monkey Island in Cameron Parish, Louisiana. The project is modeled as a 15.75 mtpa natural gas liquefaction facility and will utilize the world’s leading cryogenic technology to liquefy natural gas to produce LNG for exportation globally.Monkey Island LNG’s world-class energy professionals are comprised of over 90 years of EPC, LNG, and natural gas experience, along with creating and developing successful businesses in the energy and utility industries. Once operational, the Monkey Island LNG facility will receive natural gas via pipeline into the gas treatment facility where it will be cleaned, liquefied, and loaded from the LNG storage tanks onto LNG carriers berthed alongside Monkey Island for distribution to customers. Monkey Island LNG is Mr. Michaels’ latest endeavor, a company he established to help fill the growing global demand for clean burning natural gas. Focused on the energy revolution taking place in North America, Mr. Michaels seeks to become an exporter of U.S. natural gas while simultaneously helping the United States become a net exporter of its energy. In March 2014, Mr. Michaels acquired approximately 246 acres of land via a 99- year Option-to-Lease agreement in Southwest Louisiana for the development of the Monkey Island LNG export terminal.
