WORK HISTORY
Senior Consultant @Global Philanthropic Inc. Canada
Toronto, CA
I am thrilled to have joined Global Philanthropic Canada as a Senior Consultant. With over 40 consultants across Canada, we provide a comprehensive array of philanthropic advisory services to charities, large and small. I bring over 30 years of experience in team leadership, major and transformational gifts, legacy and annual giving. I have worked primarily in healthcare settings both in the hospital andcommunity realms. As Vice-President, Development at the Princess Margaret Cancer Foundation, I led the major gifts team and worked with senior leaders across the organization. My colleagues and I secured over $400 million in major gift support for Princess Margaret’s world-leading cancer research and capital projects. At ACT, I led annual and leadership giving, planned giving and recognition programs.I am personable, collaborative, strategic and results-oriented and specialize in building long-term, impactful relationships among donors and charities. I have particular expertise in working with physicians and program staff to engage grateful patients and align donor interests with charitable opportunities. Drawing on this experience, I am partnering with my Global colleagues to offer the Beyond Grateful program, helping charities to maximize their support from grateful patients and family members. I work with clients to assess challenges and opportunities and to develop optimal strategies that focus on securing increasing donor support. This includes counsel related to goal setting, pipeline development, priority identification, refining current programs and developing new campaigns. At the core of my approach is a focus on major gifts. Through this emphasis on securing the largest gifts possible, I help charities maximize their fundraising potential.A hurdle for charities is recruiting and retaining leadership and major gift staff. I offer coaching to leaders and staff to build expertise and the ability to engage and retain staff for the long term.
