ABOUT GREG L HUTCH HUTCHENS
At CORE Safety Group, the team and I are committed to setting unparalleled standards in health and safety for NASA Langley\'s Flight Dynamics Research Facility. Our collaborative approach strengthens compliance and incident management, central to my expertise honed over the previous eight years at North Wind and the Y-12 National Security Complex. My role as a Health, Safety, and Environment Advisor reflects a dedication to integrating safety protocols with daily operations, enhancing on-site safety culture, and fostering a shared mission. The competencies in first aid, CPR instruction, and construction safety have been integral to achieving our collective goals of operational efficiency and rigorous safety benchmarks.I am a strong proponent for - and advocate of - Behavior Based Safety modules wherein, ‘At-Risk Behaviors’, are identified, eliminated, and replaced with positively reinforced Safety behaviors and mannerisms. I believe Behavior Based Safety to be both a sound business practice and a solid investment in Human Resources. The breadth of my background in the Safety and Operations disciplines includes safety oversight and training responsibilities on projects in Oregon (EPA Superfund Site Asbestos Remediation), Texas, Ohio, Michigan, Colorado, Kentucky, Tennessee, Louisiana, Florida and Virginia (NASA Kennedy Space Center and NASA Langley AFB), Idaho as well as Asia (China, South Korea) and the Caribbean. During my tenure on a project at the Hess Oil refinery in St. Croix, US Virgin Islands, the company for which I worked did not receive a single safety violation or citation during the course of seven site inspections. That project was under the joint purview of OSHA and MSHA, as well as the requirement for strict adherence to stringent EPA guidelines. Specific environmental regulatory issues in this role were focused on the potential for pollution and degradation of the shoreline along the Caribbean coastal waters which abutted the project. I am well versed and adept in composing Site-Specific Safety Policy and Emergency Action Plans (EAP). My ability to analyze and subsequently customize existing Safety Plans to dovetail into a comprehensive Safety Management Philosophy that uniquely fits a specific corporate entity has served me and my employers well. To that end, attention to detail and an instinctive ability for getting to the heart of an issue and seeking its resolution have been defining characteristics of my safety management skill set.
