About Greg Kathary

I am a hard working and focused Emmy Award-winning news producer with 30 years of broadcast journalism experience. I love the media environment and I work to create content that is authentic and engaging, as well as helping others achieve those goals. My objective is to create strong relationships with both local and national journalists. I strive to be a trusted voice for the people of my community. In addition to broadcast news, I have helped write feature stories and produced short-form documentaries for several non-profit organizations.

   Emmy Award-winning News Producer for the 5:00-6:00am hour of 13 News Sunrise. I work with the Executive Producer, as well as reporters and photojournalists on day-of news content and future news coverage. I also have experience as one of the news content producers for the station\'s website, wthr.com, during the overnight/early morning hours, as well as news content producer on social media (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram). I have also produced several news specials while at WTHR-TV, including a portion of our 7-hour Indianapolis 500 Race Day coverage every year and the 500 Festival Mini Marathon in Indianapolis. I also help mentor new News Producers who come into the station and provide some guidance to new Executive Producers who come on board, getting them up to speed on operations within the newsroom.
