About Greg Gilbert

Having served in various public safety positions throughout my career, I am passionate about serving the public in any role that I am assigned and providing quality leadership in these roles. During my career, I have served in a wide range of emergency services related positions which developed a strong professional skill set in Leadership, Management, Emergency Services Delivery and Training. These experiences allowed me to gain a broad perspective of how public agencies fit in society in an effective and responsible fashion, and how strong leadership and project development skills must include collaborative partnerships, community relationships, and interagency cooperation. Through education and dedication I constantly strive to improve my own skills and to help others maximize their potential as public servants.

Experience

1. Assistant Chief of Operations

   Frederick-Firestone Fire Protection District

   Mar 2026 — Present

   Provide executive oversight and leadership for the District’s fire protection and mitigation efforts, emergency medical response and transport, and all technical and specialized rescue operations. Direct and coordinate the comprehensive management of the Operations, Training, and Fleet Divisions to ensure operational readiness, personnel development, and the efficient deployment of resources in support of the District’s mission.Actively contribute to fiscal stewardship, strategic planning, accreditation efforts, and continuous organizational improvement initiatives that strengthen both emergency and non-emergency service delivery. Maintain an active operational role in emergency response, assuming and implementing appropriate positions within the Incident Command System to ensure effective command, control, coordination, and mitigation of incidents while prioritizing responder and community safety.
