With over 25 years in the UK railway industry, I’ve progressed from hands-on operational roles to senior management, gaining a deep understanding of train operations, safety, and people leadership.Currently employed as an Operations Manager at Reading Train Care Depot, I lead a large multi-disciplinary team of train drivers and depot signallers (train movement controllers). I’m responsible for ensuring safe, efficient depot operations, authoring and maintaining Depot Operating Instructions across Reading TCD and outstation locations.My day-to-day work covers the full spectrum of people management — from competence assessments and safety investigations to casework, disciplinaries, and wellbeing initiatives.
