Manage a full time staff of planners (3) and building division staff (2) plus several consulting planners. Calistoga is a small community with a significant number of on-going city initiated and private development projects. Resulting in an active department responsible for processing a wide range of land use entitlements and daily management of complex building permit review, inspection, and occupancy projects. The department is also responsible for managing the abatement process for all code compliance situations. Currently processing entitlements for 100+/- housing units (affordable + missing middle + market rate), the adaptive reuse of a historic church into an community event center, a new construction community health center and the restoration of 3 historic commercial structures along the city\'s \'main\' street. Currently managing the build out of over 140 housing units (affordable + market rate), a 100 key resort in the center of town and a 112 key, 100 acre, resort on the edge of town, a sf wine production facility and a hydrogen + battery micro-grid designed to power the community during PSPS events.Manage three committees focused on environmental policy (Green), affordable housing (Housing) and traffic/circulation (Transportation). Prepare & present staff reports at weekly planning committee, commission & city council public hearings.
