ABOUT JO BRADFORD

Author, photographer, educator and public speaker. I am course leader on the BA (Hons) Marine and Natural History Photography Degree at Falmouth University. I also serve as an external examiner and study adviser for other Colleges and Universities in the UK and deliver photography and creativity workshops for the Royal Photographic Society. I write and create content for books, TV and magazines, see my Instagram @GreenIslandStudios. My best selling book \"Smart Phone, Smart Photography\" was published by CICO Books in April 2018. My second book,\"Smart Phone, Smart Photo Editing\" was published by CICO books in September 2021. My third book \"Smart Photos\" was published by White Lion / Quarto in Spring 2022. My 4th book, View / Point, a curated collection of photography telling human stories from around the globe was published in September 2023 with Ilex / Hachette. I am represented by the Jane Turnbull Literary Agency in London. My fine art photography is represented by galleries in London, New York and Paris, and my work has been licensed by Getty Images to clients such as American Express, Disney, Oprah.com, M&C Saatchi, MTV New York, Google, AOL, Samsung, Viacom, Faber & Faber, Hello Magazine, Microsoft, Channel Four TV, BBC, Zara, Conde Nast France, McGraw Hill Publishing and Random House Publishing. I speak online and in person on a range of subjects related to photography and creativity to audiences all over the world, and appear on TV and radio discussing all things photography. I am passionate about making photography available to all and often deliver workshops for disadvantaged youth, remote communities and vulnerable groups giving them the confidence and freedom to express themselves creatively. I often use old smartphones and defunct digital point and shoot cameras to facilitate their learning and experience in unusual and easily accessible ways. My photography space, Green Island Studios, was established in January 2007. It is based off-grid, powered by renewables, in Dartmoor National Park, where I deliver workshops and courses in photography, such as alternative process photography, digital photography, analogue photography, colour and black and white darkroom skills and also digital editing.
