About Grayland Balmer
Currently in the role of Completions Engineer for CrownQuest Operating. Hydraulic fracturing and frac plug drill outs in the Midland Basin. Previously, as the Product and Service Delivery (PSD) Operations Manager for Schlumberger (SLB) in the Permian Basin, I oversaw all cementing operations for two major clients: Pioneer Natural Resources and BPX Energy. I coordinated with their drilling engineers to ensure optimal cementing design, zonal isolation, operational efficiency, and post-cementing completion strategies. I led a team of 60+ equipment operators, who delivered exceptional service quality and safety performance for 18 active drilling rigs, 100 jobs per month, and $5.5 million in monthly revenue. I also supervised the field implementation and quality control of Project EcoShield, a geopolymer cement substitute that reduces carbon footprint and enhances well integrity. I began my time with Schlumberger in Cheyenne, WY and spent most of my field time in the DJ Basin of Colorado and the Powder River Basin in Wyoming. I transferred to Midland, TX in April of 2022 and completed my G11 Controls process in July of 2022.I am a second generation oil and gas engineer, and have a great loyalty to the industry and the people in it. I am eager to continue my pursuit of learning more aspects of the oil and gas industry by contributing to, and building, high performing teams.I have a Bachelor of Applied Science in Chemical Engineering from the Colorado School of Mines, where I graduated with Cum Laude honors and a 3.60 GPA. I also have a minor in Petroleum Engineering and am a member of the American Association of Drilling Engineers. I am passionate about learning and contributing to the oil and gas industry, and I have extensive field experience in various basins across the US. and I have multiple skills in engineering, supply chain optimization, and critical thinking.
