Formally a U.S. Navy Helicopter SAR Swimmer and Aerial Door Gunner, I am now a professionally licensed and lead mechanical engineer specializing in machine elements. I work full time for the U.S. Coast Guard performing static and dynamic load and stress analysis and damage tolerance (fatigue and crack growth) on aerospace components. I also have the opportunity to work part time for Weldment Design, LLC. To perform the analysis, I utilize computational simulations validated by classical hand calculations as well as physical testing.
