Joined Arqit as a C#/.Net/Kotlin/JVM engineer in an initial team of 3 engineers as a senior architect. Architected, designed and built a symmetric key agreement platform to counter the Quantum threat. Built in Kotlin as a microservices architecture (also with C#.NET components). My key responsibilities have been:* Design the architecture for the platform using REST services.* Design and build core gRpc services in both C#/.Net and Kotlin around a hibernate/JPA persistance layer using a Postgresql data store.* Design and build asynchronous auditing layer using Kafka/logstash/Elasticsearch persistance.* Design and build edge REST services in Kotlin with the Micronaut framework. This included a custom device authentication layer for certain endpoints and a standard oauth2 authentication framework for user based workflows.* Design and build client SDKs in C#/.Net, Kotlin and Python.* Design and build initial CI/CD pipeline with Azure Devops, deploying to company data centre on a Microk8s kubernetes cluster. Hired devops lead to continue management of CI/CD pipeline and other devops responsibilities.* Design and build UI components as part of a Reactfront end.The company diversified into trade finance, with a 3rd party built a POC. Following this I lead a team as principal architect, developing the appropriate microservices architecture with well defined responsibilities. My responsibilities here include:* Evaluate POC architecture written as a NodeJS monolith. Make recommendations for transition to a microservices based architecture.* Design authentication workflows around AWS Cognito with custom encryption layer to ensure quantum safety.* Design and build highly available Ethereum network in AWS EKS, with multi-region redundancy.* Design core workflows, defining service responsibilities with integrations into AWS pinpoint for OTP single use tokens via SMS for guest users and AWS Simple Mail Service for email notifications.
