About Grant Waldie

I started in the construction industry because I\'m a firm believer that if you\'re going to tell someone how to build something, then you need to have built something yourself. After getting my degree in Civil Engineering (Structural/Transportation specialty) and working in a variety of roles I became a bridge inspector at Parsons and travelled to over 1,600 structures all across North America. I led teams as we created defect reports for clients, and I worked to develop rehabilitation strategies. After running hundreds of successful projects, I became a Project Management Analyst on large-scale multi-disciplinary jobs. I focused on assessing schedule, budget, and quality and notified various Project Managers of areas of slippage.I then took a position at WSP as National Rail Bridge Leader where I grew the team from one person (me) to 250 and added $20M in revenue in my first six months. I oversaw all bridge inspections, project management, business development, and executive management, as it pertained to rail bridges in the US market. WSP grew from to and I assisted in Technical Integration of staff. At TRC, I helped out in the areas Transit, Capital Programs, Business Operations, Strategy, and Integration, across the USA and Canada. At GHD, I began as Market Leader (BD role) and now serve as Business Group Leader of the Transportation Group, accountable for the financial and operational performance of road, highway, bridge, ports, marine, and rail projects.GHD has operations in over 160 countries, across five continents, with staff of
