ABOUT GRANT SYKES

I am a petroleum engineer with a focus in onshore U.S. oil and gas operations with a passion for the oil and gas business and leadership within. I have a Bachelor’s degree in Petroleum Engineering from Texas A&M University and a Master’s in Business from OU. With over 10 years of experience, I have had the opportunity to serve in multiple operational roles including Completion Engineer, Asset Team Lead, Completions Manager, Operations Manager, and most recently VP of Operations at 89 Energy, leading our completion and production operations teams. I specialize in unconventional horizontal stimulation design optimization and operational efficiencies, horizontal well optimization and leading operational teams. In past and current roles, I- Implemented, managed and optimized fully decoupled completions operations models, self-sourcing proppant, logistics, chemicals and services- Leverage operational experience to design horizontal well stimulations and directly lead a team of well-site supervisors to safely and efficiently carry out operations- Effectively lead a dynamic cross-functional completions and production operations team to develop 89 Energy’s SCOOP asset and continuously optimize our production streams In addition to these oil and gas career impacts, I am so proud to work alongside my wife and business partner, Lauren, in our entrepreneurial real estate investments with multiple short-term rentals in Destin, Florida. In our spare time we enjoy spending time outdoors with our young son, Weston, and our Golden Retriever Simba.
