ABOUT GRANT GUECHDI

Offshore maritime professional with a strong operational background across the fishing industry, Merchant Navy, and offshore drilling sector. I have developed extensive hands-on experience in deck operations, vessel operations, and offshore safety while progressing from entry-level positions to officer level.I began my career working onboard deep-sea trawlers operating in pair and twin rig configurations before transitioning to the Merchant Navy. Starting as a trainee deckhand, I progressed through the ranks to Bosun, gaining valuable experience across multiple vessel types including fishing vessels, Emergency Response and Rescue Vessels (ERRVs), multi-purpose vessels, and tugs. This experience provided a solid foundation in seamanship, deck operations, and crew leadership in challenging offshore environments.After obtaining my offshore certifications, I transitioned into the offshore drilling industry, initially working as a Roustabout. I have since gained experience onboard jack-up barges, semi-submersibles, and drillships (both manual and cyber rigs). Throughout this time, I have undertaken a variety of operational and safety roles including Able Seaman, deck crew member, Roustabout, rigger, helideck crew member, safety representative, and fire and rescue team member.I recently graduated from City of Glasgow College with a degree in Marine Nautical Science and obtained my Officer of the Watch (OOW) Unlimited Certificate of Competency. I am currently working as a Trainee Dynamic Positioning Officer onboard drillships and progressing toward my DP Unlimited certification.
