About Grant Ginn
Grant specializes in river restoration and has over thirty years of experience in the morphologic, hydrologic and hydraulic design of streams and wetlands associated with restoration, mitigation, remediation, and infrastructure projects. In 2005, he founded Wolf Creek Engineering with the goal of establishing a consulting firm that would be a market leader in innovative designs and client service in the ecological restoration field. In pursuit of this goal he has focused on developing stream and wetland restoration projects that add value to society and the natural environment. In 2017, the Wolf Creek Engineering team joined Stantec where Grant now servers as Senior River Engineer. Grant’s experience consists of a variety of civil and environmental projects including over feet of stream and river restoration, over 1,900 acres of wetland restoration, bridge hydraulics, scour analysis, sediment transport analysis, storm sewer design, erosion control, culvert design, detention basin design, hydraulic routing analysis and flood analysis. He has worked on projects in the mountain, piedmont, and coastal plain physiographic provinces throughout the Southeast. Grant’s career has been highlighted by a diversity of projects that span a range of complex design challenges from the restoration of unique terrestrial and aquatic habitats on projects like the Ochlawaha Bog Restoration Site and the Tulula Bog and Stream Restoration Site to river stabilization projects such as the Dillsboro Dam Removal on the Tuckasegee River and the Swannanoa River Restoration in Asheville, North Carolina. Throughout his career Grant has striven to provide a balanced approach to restoration design by incorporating both sound engineering and biological principals to facilitate long-term success. He and his staff continue to seek opportunities to go beyond conventional approaches in order to maximize natural functions, improve habitat, and protect existing natural resources.
