ABOUT GRANT C PETERS

I have over 40 years financial services experience including roles within the Banking and Capital Markets, Insurance and Asset Management industries as well as the government sector and professional practice. I am a NED and a Trustee and currently an EY Financial Services Tax Partner. I led the Financial Services Tax Practice in Oceania for just over 10 years before moving permanently to the UK as a Financial Services Tax Partner in July 2020. Now a Global Compliance and Reporting specialist focusing solely on the Insurance market, I am the Global Insurance Tax Sustainability Leader and part of EY’s UK FS Sustainable Finance Op Co. Prior to moving to the UK, I had a much broader role across the entire Financial Services Market. I was a member of the Oceania Financial Services Market Segment Board and the Asia Pacific FSO Tax Leadership team. These teams were responsible for developing and or executing on all aspects of EY’s FS tax practice in Oceania. This focused on a high and sustainable growth strategy, governance, hires, staff resourcing, diversity and inclusiveness, career development, branding, events, and new business ventures. I have worked closely with Bancassurance groups in addition to mutual bodies, foundations/charities, co-operatives, and not-for-profit organisations. This involved extensive interaction with clients’ Finance and Tax functions, Group and Statutory Company Boards and ARCs, non-executive directors as well as Government and government departments including lobbying, statutory filings, audit/assurance programs, corporate governance and risk management, advocacy, disputes/litigation, alternative dispute resolution and working groups.
