About Guillermo Willy Ramirez

Expert in materials and structural engineering design and evaluation with more than 17 years of professional and consulting experience. Professional areas of service are forensic and advanced engineering, incident investigation, litigation support and root cause analysis. Key areas of consulting expertise include finite element modeling and simulation of structures and components; performance and composition of concrete and other materials, in addition to steel and composite materials. I am also knowledgeable in retrofitting of existing structures using either traditional methods or advanced fiber composites, and field instrumentation and testing of structures. I am experienced in the use of health monitoring protocols and in the evaluation of structures with nondestructive inspection methods. I have worked in failure analysis, cause identification and testing of structures from offshore, FPSO’s and aircraft components to commercial and residential construction. I have also participated in HAZOP and HAZID activities for offshore installations. I have in-depth knowledge and practice in the design of structures.Other areas of specialized expertise include design and analysis of pressure vessels, offshore structures and components and use of fiber reinforced plastic composites in offshore and aerospace applications, hydrogen storage tanks and similar structures.
