ABOUT GRAHAM HOLLAND
I\'m an eLearning Support Officer in the Faculty of Humanities at the University of Manchester, currently supporting the School of Arts, Languages and Cultures (SALC). I’ve specialised in the area of Learning Technology since 1997 when I joined Runcorn CLC as eLearning Teacher. Since then I’ve been a learning technologist for Glyndwr University responsible for their Moodle VLE, a self-employed e-learning professional, and an Apple Education Trainer. I\'m an Apple Distinguished Educator with expertise in the use of creative digital media and technology in education. I’m a member of the Association of Learning Technology and the Association of University Administrators (AUA), and am a PRINCE2 Practitioner. After qualifying as a teacher in 1997 I worked in teaching and support roles in both mainstream and special education schools, plus PRUs, a secure unit, and a year teaching English to adults in Taiwan. I worked for five years for the National Teaching and Advisory Service supporting the education of Looked After Children and children in care. Before my current role I was Alumni Officer (Events and Communications) at the University, and prior to that Web Development Officer for the AUA.In my spare time I manage the Liverpool Acoustic website and run regular live music events at venues including the Music Room at the Liverpool Philharmonic Hall, and LEAF on Bold St. These events have twice won Live Music Event of the Year at the Liverpool Music Awards.I’ve been an adult volunteer in the Scout Association since 1989 years having previously been an Assistant Scout Leader, Cub Scout Leader, District Commissioner and District Appointments Secretary. I’m still involved with Scouting on the periphery as District Web Manager. I’m addicted to parkrun (A40•••55) having discovered it at the end of 2017, and am a Run Director for The Mystery junior parkrun having helped start it in June 2019. During 2019 I ran 2,448km (1,521 miles) raising over £2,600 for Alzheimer\'s Research UK. In May 2019 I ran my first (and, to date, only) marathon in 3:55:53. I\'m currently on a (long term!) mission to run every single street in Liverpool - all 5,641.Specialities: Learning technology, communication, education, social media, new media, event management
