Graham Bell is a technologist and award winning Intellectual Property Expert.Graham has a background in product engineering - particularly in cellular communications, consumer electronics and related technologies. He has been involved in the development of technologies and products in a range of sectors including telecoms, automotive, and FMCG.Graham has extensive experience in technology strategy; system design; and intellectual property and has worked with clients in Europe, the US, Asia (Korea, Singapore, Taiwan and Japan).Since forming Cubicibuc in 2015, Graham has advised clients on IP strategy, patent acquisitions and licensing. He also continues to act as an independent expert on issues around Standards Essential Patents (SEPs) and FRAND commitments in standards based technologies.He is an active member of the Licensing Executives Society (LES), and a member of the Innovations Trends Sub-committee, co-authoring a practical business guide on “How to create value with your business secrets”.Graham is involved in a number of ongoing projects concerning the interplay of IP and Open Innovation, engaging with SMEs and large multinationals. IP is a key driver for collaborative innovation, and his work focuses on developing tools to allow SMEs to more effectively articulate the IP that they own – particularly around soft IP such as know-how and trade secrets; and enhancing SME’s ability to negotiate contracts for collaborative ventures.
