After 45 years of teaching and composing, with over half a million music sales in print, I have just launched a new downloads website: Useful Music Digital. Why? I wanted to make it much easier for my fellow teachers to find music for their students to play. So we asked teachers what would help them, and we developed it for the site. Musicians can now preview scores, hear a piece and download it within a couple of minutes. Also all parts in a score can be downloaded individually. Our niche is educational sheet music: many of the pieces feature on grade exams, many will become new favourites, all are exclusive to the site. My team and I are constantly expanding the catalogue and so I am especially interested in hearing from composers for publication of new educational music. We look for melodic pieces, well-suited to the instrument, that students and listeners will enjoy.
