ABOUT GRAHAM CORFIELD
I founded Aviramp in 2010 based on an idea I drew on a beer mat in a pub of a ‘low angled slope and motorised aircraft ramp’. I obtained the IP and set about challenging the aviation industry with a much simpler, quicker, more cost-effective and dignified way to board and disembark passengers, including those with reduced mobility. After initial rejections from most of the industry (saying “Go away. We have done it with lifts and stairs for 70 years.“), only a few saw its potential. One of which was EasyJet and it helped me bring the idea to an aviation-worthy concept and trial it on one of its aircraft.French airports La Reunion and Perpignan recognised the opportunity I was offering and purchased the first units.The costs meant considerable and severe financial hardship in those early years but now Aviramp is a global brand selling to all corners of the world. As of May 2025, some 750 units are operating worldwide.There\'s a lot more to the story, as you can imagine, so one of these days maybe a podcast is coming.
