About Graham Bell
My Career has been a journey of following my passions for engineering/science and innovation. In addition, my family has a long history of entrepreneurship. I worked through high school and college gaining practical, hands-on experience in engineering, as well as food service and bar-tending. My mentor once told me \"An Engineer can do for $1 what any fool can do for $5\". I apply this philosophy everyday. After completing my BS, MS and PhD programs at UCLA, I worked at Oak Ridge National Laboratory in the Metals & Ceramics Division which fulfilled my need to conduct state of the art research. The opportunity to become and entrepreneur came to me in 1993. I bought a small engineering company, operated and grew it over the next 18 years. I often say, if I had known what I was doing, I would have never done what I did.but it all worked out. In order to give my staff and myself the opportunity to grow to the next level, I sold my small firm to HDR Engineering. This change and challenge has given me and my staff the chance to grow and succeed in ways none of us could have ever imagine. As a team, we continue to bring innovation and practical solutions to our clients and their projects. The journey continues and I look forward everyday to continuing to provide value and service to my clients, my employees and my family.
Experience
Vice President
Jul 2019 — Present · Knoxville, TN, US
I am excited to announce that I have joined the STRUCTURAL TECHNOLOGIES\' team. My focus will be to assist water and wastewater agencies and consultants with expanding the value of their asset management programs for medium and large diameter pipelines. This includes condition assessment, inspection and rehabilitation with STRUCTURAL TECHNOLOGIES’ StrongPIPE® family of product systems. In addition, I will have the opportunity to work in the Nuclear Energy field which is where I got my start more than 30 years ago. This is significant challenge after being in the consulting engineering field for the past 26.5 years. I hope that my tenure in and insight into the consulting engineering field will help Structural Technologies bring new an innovative solutions to aging linear infrastructure. I look forward to the continued fruitful relationships with my consulting colleagues, clients and friends as I make this transition to the 3rd act of my career. Thanks for your continued friendship and support.
