ABOUT GRAEME REW
I have a passion for projects and delivering change! Currently working as a Project Manager within the Business Transformation unit at the University of St Andrews. I left the Oil & Gas sector in 2022, with a view to progressing my project management career. After joining the university, I was immediately put on to the Finance Improvement Project. The project was one of the biggest, and probably the most complex, that the university had ever taken on. I was given the role of leading delivery of the first workstream on the project (Worktribe Pre-Award). On completion of this, I was then made Lead Project Manager for the remainder of the project, with a team of around 60 people in place. We have subsequently delivered Oracle Fusion ERP, and are soon to progress on to delivery of Oracle Fusion EPM.Prior to my current role, I worked in Oil and Gas for an OEM, initially in Sales but progressing into Sales and Project Management, and it was at this point that my interest in projects was sparked. This had been quite a change from my first role, which was in the electronics industry at a wafer fabrication plant as a process engineer. What has remained a constant through my career though is a love for engineering and technical detail, and that has played a part in very role I have been in. I think the engineering side of my education and career has also given me very good analytical skills that I still use. Before I left Oil & Gas, I completed my APM Project Management Qualification (having done the APM PFQ some years earlier), and passing this gave me the confidence that project management was for me. I have subsequently completed my MSP Practitioner qualification, giving me more skills and knowledge to apply to Programme Management.I\'m a strong believer in getting the basics right, and doing them well. I also have a side interest in strategy and employee engagement. I am able to look at the bigger picture, both within a project and more widely across the organisation and sector. I really enjoy getting under the skin of an organisation, looking at their plans for development and continuous improvement.Outside of work, I enjoy hill-walking, cycling, cooking, holidays and socialising. I also like to spend time with family, and have a beautiful daughter!
