Develop the approach to oversee the management of funded grant programmes (both thedelivery of a programme by an external organisation(s) and its independent evaluation)including working closely with grantees to monitor performance against milestones,identifying risks and ensuring these are mitigated or escalated appropriately. All subgrantswill need to be be compliant with Government Functional Standard GovS015: Grants. Report on the overall project budgets, including checking financial reports and ensuringthat projects are delivered on budget and/or budgets are realigned as required. Support other members of the Programmes team to oversee and lead regular projectupdate meetings with grantees. Work closely with our Data and Evidence team to ensure projects make use of rigorousand appropriate methods.Commissioning Develop the approach, set up and administer grant funding calls for both delivery partners(charities, local authorities, and others involved in administering interventions), andevaluation partners (research organisations including consultancies and universities). Coordinate the rigorous assessment and review of applications, including coordinatinginternal teams to assess applications and providing secretariat for CHI’s grants andevaluation committee. Ensure that decision-makers have all the information required to be able to make qualitydecisions about which projects to fund, and which evaluators to appoint, and that there issufficient documentation in place to provide an audit trail for all decisions.Communication and dissemination Collaborate closely with communication colleagues to develop an approach and supportthe successful publication of evaluation and research reports, leading on engagement withgrantees in relation to publication, as well as other activities to ensure findings areimplemented in practice.
