ABOUT GRADY PURCELL

Grady is a senior at Duke University pursuing dual Bachelor of Science degrees in Statistical Science (with a concentration in Data Science) and Economics. Before Duke, she was dual-enrolled at UNC Chapel Hill, where she completed advanced coursework in Multivariable Calculus, Discrete Mathematics, and Differential Equations. Her professional experience spans strategy, analytics, and sports performance. She has worked in Strategy for a Utilities client at Accenture, interned as a Data Analyst at TastyTrade, and partnered with the Duke Women’s Soccer Team to design metrics and visualizations that analyze team and player performance. Grady is especially interested in leveraging data-driven approaches to improve business performance, guide decision-making, and shape future strategy. In addition to her professional work, Grady is passionate about teaching and mentorship. She has volunteered more than 100 hours tutoring peers in Math, Spanish, and AP World History, in addition to privately tutoring students in Pre-Calculus and SAT Math preparation. At Duke, she has served as a Statistics tutor for the Academic Resource Center as well as a teaching assistant for Lab Calculus and Functions and for Econometrics. Outside of academics, Grady is an avid runner, soccer enthusiast, and hiker. She has completed two marathons and a month-long NOLS program in Wyoming’s Absaroka Mountain Range, where she gained hands-on leadership experience and earned her Leave No Trace certification. These experiences reflect her commitment to teamwork, resilience, and fostering inclusive group dynamics.
