I\'m a journalist with a background in politics and government. Right now, I\'m combatting misinformation as a political reporter at Snopes. My job also involves making politics and policy more accessible to readers and ensuring our audience has what they need to make informed decisions. I previously wrote under the byline \"Grace Deng.\" As a former statehouse reporter, I focused on race, equity and identity-focused issues. Those issues don\'t happen in a bubble, though, so I tended to cover a lot of ground: I\'ve reported on health, immigration, environment, criminal justice, labor, business and more. I see journalism as a tool for uplifting the stories and work of communities marginalized by oppressive systems and structures. I also believe in meeting audiences where they\'re at - my approach to journalism focuses on transparency, communication with readers and remembering that media literacy is taught, not innate.
