About Grace Merchant-Brands

When I was born, my doctor described me as a \"textbook baby.\" After a season as grade school valedictorian and collegiate bookworm/writing coach, I threw out the textbook and wrote my own adventure. I work with creative companies, directors, and clients to help them express and create their best ideas in moving words and visuals that are anything but by-the-book. Always learning and growing in my craft, my experience with some of the biggest names in the business – as well as the equally important mom and pop shops down the block – runs the gamut from concept to execution. I\'m the rare person who can riff on creative script ideas and also explain why you\'d prefer one camera system over another. This range of different types of thinking allows me to deliver a unique perspective in my work, able to see both the visionary and the practical sides that go into making truly moving images. Forever a kid from a small working-class suburb in Minnesota, I have a heart (and a knack) for nourishing relatable and down-to-earth moments that ring true and make people feel seen.
