About Grace Jeffer
I am Grace Jeffer, and I am a sophomore at Indiana University, majoring in Sports Media through The Media School. My passion for storytelling, on-camera communication, and all things sports is deeply rooted in my past experiences. I am goal-oriented and persistent, and I bring my communication skills into everything I do. My drive to be a leader and make an impact began early. I was grateful in 2017 to be a founder and spokesperson of The Avalon Foundation, a nonprofit organization. By speaking to people much older than me at events and representing our mission, I became comfortable and confident with connecting with audiences- whether that be face-to-face or on camera. At the same time, my soccer career, which lasted through my senior year, strengthened my teamwork and resilience. These rewarding experiences gave me insight into what I want to do professionally. Having watched and played sports my entire life, as well as participating in fantasy football leagues and countless March Madness Brackets, I have combined my lifelong love of athletics and my deep interest in communication to make sports reporting my ideal career path. Through my active involvement in campus media organizations like IUSTV Sports and my participation in Greek life at IU, I\'ve gained valuable opportunities and honed skills that I\'m eager to nurture. I\'m particularly excited about the prospect of further developing my skills in sports journalism, reporting, and broadcasting, as well as in digital content creation and writing, all while working towards my career goal.

As a part of IUSTV, specifically IUSTV Sports, I have reported both in and out of the studio. I was a beat reporter for the 2025 IU Softball team, where I posted live game updates from the press box, interviewed players and coaches postgame, recorded stand-ups and other media content, and assembled packages used in the weekly IUSTV Sports show, Hoosier Sports Nite. I am a 20••••26 IU Women\'s Basketball beat reporter. I have also contributed through positions in the control room as well as on-camera appearances.
