About Grace Fidele Dushime
Currently, I am a junior in Dakota State University\'s Honors Computer Science Program, where I study theory and practice the resulting applications.In classes like Advanced Data Structures, I have understood efficiently measuring algorithm performance with amortized analysis as opposed to big O\'s worst-case scenario approach. In Object Oriented Design, I have learnt to take time thinking of the components and functionalities of a program before risking writing illogical code.Finally, let\'s talk about soft skills. In the Honors Seminar class, I evaluate ethical implications of employing face recognition AI in legal rulings and neighbourhood conversations like the South Dakota\'s SB 135 and HB 1005, which regulate data centers and exempt them from sales and use tax, respectively and present evidence-based findings to 10+ colleagues and a professor. This experience has reinforced the importance of engaging with diverse perspectives to refine conclusions and develop balanced recommendations.Outside class, I also learn differently through driving forward club events like FBLA\'s card sale fundraising and research endeavours like a current project which my team and I are presenting in late March 2026 in a university-wide Research Week.Through class periods, office hours with helpful professors and mentors, chatting with classmates, private study, or fun club time, I earn practical knowledge and osmose lived expertise.
