ABOUT GRACE UMUTESI
I have a master\'s degree in Food Science and Technology from the Department of Food Science, Nutrition, and Health Promotion at Mississippi State University. My research background focused on Food Microbiology. My thesis focused on the survival of 8 Salmonella in gradually increasing concentrations of QAC in water, followed by persistence or regrowth in high or low nutrient conditions at room temperature. My program and work experience have equipped me to understand the impact of food pathogens on food safety, preservation, and processing. I am working as a FSQA supervisor in Tyson Foods and I am expanding my working skills and knowledge through hands-on experiences in the food industry.
