About Grace Terrell
Currently, I am Chief Product Officer at IKS Health, a company that is designing and delivering the platform clinicians need to thrive. I continue to practice internal medicine part time at Atrium Wake Forest and serve organizations focused on health care innovation including the Oliver Wyman and AMGA. I serve on the board of trustees of Guilford College. My latest book is Reframing Contemporary Physician Leadership. Previously, as CEO of Eventus WholeHealth, I was part of a pioneering team of health care professionals providing comprehensive, whole-person care to patients in skilled nursing facilities, assisted living facilities, and private homes. I have been the President/CEO of Envision Genomics, Inc, a company helping clinicians diagnose rare diseases. We focused on merging precision medicine technology with population health frameworks for patients with rare, misdiagnosed, and undiagnosed disorders, and as Chief Clinical Strategy Officer of Kailos Genetics, part of a highly experienced team combining targeted enrichment technology and next generation sequencing system to deliver superior results in pharmacogenetics and hereditary cancer. In 2013, I launched population health management company, CHESS, that brought the Cornerstone Healthcare care model redesign process to more national health systems. I was CEO until it was acquired by LabCorp and Wake Forest Baptist Health in 2016. In 1995, I founded Cornerstone Health Care with seven other physicians. Cornerstone was a multi-specialty medical practice and is now part of the Wake Forest Baptist Health System. While I was CEO, Cornerstone grew from $16M in annual revenue to $250M, won AMGA\'s prestigious Acclaim Award, had the country’s best performing MSSP ACO, was North Carolina’s first system-wide Patient Centered Medical Home, and was one of the first organizations to make the “move to value” by lowering the cost of care and improving care quality for the sickest, most vulnerable patients in various care models by 13-20%. I have served as chair of the Board of Directors of the American Medical Group Association and am a proud member of the Oliver Wyman Health Innovation Center’s Leadership Alliance. I have previously served as Vice-chair of on the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services’ Physician-Focused Payment Model Technical Advisory Committee. I regularly share my insights on health care innovation and delivery system reform, population health outcomes, clinical and information integration, and value-based payment models.
