ABOUT GRACE ROBINSON
Aspiring Barrister | Penultimate-Year Law Student at Durham UniversityI am a penultimate-year Law student at Durham University with a strong interest in criminal and family law. I am currently applying for mini-pupillages and exploring internships, where I can apply and develop my problem-solving abilities, advocacy skills and legal expertise.Alongside my degree, I have gained practical insight into the legal profession through mini pupillages at 39 Essex Chambers and FOURTEEN Chambers, as well as completing an internship with the Government Legal Department in Leeds. These opportunities have allowed me to review complex case materials, analyse statutory provisions and case law, and develop structured legal arguments.Outside of my legal studies, I have taken on a variety of volunteer positions and leadership roles. I have served as a student representative on the Durham Law School Board of Studies, where I represent the interests of the law undergraduate cohort. I am also the Working Class Welfare Representative at St Aidan’s College, where I help to organise and deliver welfare initiatives that promote student wellbeing and inclusion. These roles have strengthened my communication, organisational and leadership skills, while allowing me to represent and support a diverse student body.I have balanced these commitments with part-time employment, including working at ASDA in the home shopping department and tutoring Mathematics with MyTutor and Durham University’s foundation year programme. These roles have enhanced my time management, adaptability and interpersonal skills. This year, I am focused on broadening my legal exposure, building on my advocacy experience and preparing for a career at the Bar.
