ABOUT GRACE DOCKERY
As a first-generation college student, my goal is to defy the odds and become the very best version of myself. That’s easier said than done—so each day feels like unlocking a new level in a game, where I get to decide how I’ll rise to the challenge.Currently, I’m pursuing a bachelor’s degree in business administration with a concentration in Entrepreneurship and Management at the University of Massachusetts Lowell. I’m in my fourth year of higher education and loving every second of it. I especially enjoy learning from academic professionals about topics like entrepreneurship, business psychology, marketing trends, management strategies, environmental issues, probabilities, and communication.Outside the classroom, I’ve gained real-world experience in both the HR and SaaS industries through an internship with UKG. This opportunity has allowed me to apply my passion for helping others within a corporate environment, while sharpening my understanding of how technology and people strategies intersect.This drive to make a difference also fuels my leadership within the River Hawk Scholars Academy. As a team leader, I mentor 17 first-year students who, like me, are also first-generation college students. I know firsthand how impactful a support system can be—I benefited tremendously from mine.
