About Grace Delmonte
Following my graduation from Vanderbilt University in May 2024, where I studied Neuroscience as well as Medicine, Health, and Society on the pre-medical track, I earned my Masters of Medical Science at The Warren Alpert Medical School of Brown University in spring 2025. Currently, I am a medical assistant at Atlanta Neurology. In the medical field, I believe the scientific knowledge needed to treat patients is most powerful when armed with empathy, clarity, and mutual understanding. As an aspiring physician committed to alleviating health disparities, specifically low health literacy, I aim to improve communication in healthcare by filtering the overwhelming amount of “noise” present in clinical settings. Whether it\'s ICU alarms, medical misinformation online, or unexplained medical jargon, these distractions, or “noises”, can be louder than effective patient care. While treating patients, I will simultaneously work to lower the volume on these “noises” and ultimately eliminate the barriers that negatively impact patient understanding.
Experience
Medical Assistant
Sep 2025 — Present · Atlanta, GA, US
Alongside Dr. Gerald Silverboard and the other providers at Atlanta Neurology, I developed necessary clinical skills that will one day make me a better physician. I triaged patients by collecting patient vitals, medications, allergies, and medical history while also successfully learning to interpret and explain various testing results to patients. In addition, I sent patient\'s orders with proper diagnosis codes and the necessary logistics for each procedure in a timely fashion. I administered prescriptions and diligently worked to ensure insurance coverage for all of our patients while balancing scheduling and medical records. Most importantly, I refined how to communicate with patients to ensure I was able to foster mutual understanding and provide comfort with difficult diagnoses and intense symptoms.
