About Grace Collis

I am currently a student at Indiana University studying Biochemistry with a minor in Spanish. I have developed a passion in the world of healthcare through an understanding of health at a molecular level through my studies, as well as years of clinical experience as a technician, intern, and a shadow in both the ophthalmic and dental fields. I am an eager and ambitious learner, and will continue to expand my knowledge through study and immersion into the workforce. Due to my affable and extroverted nature, I have earned many opportunities that allowed for tremendous growth such as my position as Social Chair in my sorority, customer care and sales success in my positions at Kilroy\'s on Kirkwood, as well as through my clinical roles. Athletics has always fed my competitive drive, and being elected team captain introduced me to my first leadership role. I loved it. This spurred a desire to make a difference in the world through action and example which I continuously nurture. In the last year, I applied my creative abilities and I am now in the midst of getting a children’s book published. These experiences immersed me into situations which taught me a variety of valuable lessons, such as cooperative problem solving and teamwork to create productive environments. I thrive in settings that allow me to form relationships with others and I am optimistic about a future in which I can apply my knowledge and creativity to help a community of people.
