About Grace Bell

First and foremost, I am a Nurse. A nurse with great business acumen. I always knew I wanted to be a nurse, but I took the scenic route. Initially a biology major, I began my career as a Clinical Research Associate in Boston, MA. After a year, I took time off and traveled across Britain before enrolling in graduate school to finally pursue nursing. My first nursing job was caring for transplant patients, and I fell head over heels for patients with chronic GI and liver diseases. My career path has taken me to academic medical centers, private practice, IDNs, and the biopharmaceutical industry.People often ask if I miss direct patient care, and the short answer is \"yes\"; however, I still have patients. Only now, my patients are healthcare providers and health systems. As a Population Health Account Executive & Medical Science Liaison at Abbvie, I work with providers and organizations to make the best evidence-based decisions for their patients. I analyze data and trends to help healthcare systems identify care gaps and deliver innovative solutions. I over-achieved my goals every year and was the Population Health MVP and Summit All-Star winner in 2021. To me, the essence of nursing is to leave things better than you found them. Whether it be an individual patient, their family, a provider, or a healthcare system. My clinical experience and business acumen have the potential to improve outcomes at the individual and population levels. Here are some examples of the impact of my work- Generating over 75% of all enrollments in a nationwide HCV testing program- Helped large addiction medicine clinic design and implement an enterprise-wide HCV screening and treatment protocol initiative-Leveraged resources with the largest territory account to develop a novel workflow to treat HCV patients- Helped large private specialty practices reduce wait times and improve patient outcomes in multiple disease states- Used data analysis principles to help health systems and private practices to implement population management initiatives- Population Health Summit All-Star & MVP winner 2021- Published in The Nurse Practioner- Participated in original research- Sub-investigator in many clinical trials- Well-connected with healthcare providers, executives, and leaders in Ohio & Kentucky
