About Prakash Sahu
I’m a Finite element analyst at Eaton. I carry out FEA on different flagship products not limited to differential case, clutch, fuel valves etc. My expertise includes linear and non linear FEA, polymer modeling, Ansys Automation, Excel VBA etc. I have worked as a Research Scholar working to develop reliable sensor-driven solutions for temperature measurement and structural health monitoring for application in process control and manufacturing industries. My expertise includes Finite Element modeling, Mechanical Design, Programming, Data analysis, and interpretation. I believe in bridging the gap between Science and Engineering and implement research outcomes in devising solutions to broad, relevant problems. I got such an opportunity at the Centre for Non-Destructive Evaluation, a research facility at IIT Madras. Our team conceptualized a novel methodology using ultrasound to measure critical process parameters and monitor them remotely from a laptop\'s comfort. This eventually evolved into a startup venture. I enjoy this creative process of working as a team and brainstorming ideas. As coordinator of the Career Development Cell, I am leading a team in charge of organizing job fair events to encourage students to pursue a career that will commercialize their research. I develop and manage the websites for many of the events held at the institute. Outside of work, I am active on Quora, where I mentor college students and provide career counseling. I had an official stint in tutoring during my tenure as Teaching Assistant for an undergrad course. I am an avid sports enthusiast. I have represented my hostel in Tennis, Basketball, and Volleyball tournaments.
