ABOUT PAUL NEEDHAM
I am the CEO of Arca, the carbon mineralization company that removes excess CO2 from the atmosphere and transforms it into rocks. Our mission is to help stop and reverse climate change by returning gigatonnes of CO2 into the ground. We partner with mines that produce the critical metals needed for the clean energy transition and we turn the mine waste into a massive carbon sink. The result: carbon-negative critical metals.With over 20 years of experience as a senior advisor, board member, technology CEO, and serial entrepreneur, I am passionate about finding solutions to pressing social and environmental problems. I co-founded and led Asia\'s largest rural rooftop solar leasing company, Simpa Networks, which financed and installed clean power on rooftops in villages, creating over 850 full-time green jobs and providing clean electricity, lighting, and cooling to people in rural India. I also co-chair the D-REC Initiative, a not-for-profit, multi-stakeholder, industry-led initiative to create a global market for distributed renewable energy. I enjoy working with high-performance teams, responsible corporations, and leading sustainability organizations at the intersection of technology innovation and sustainable economic development. I believe in the transformative power of bold vision and practical action.
