ABOUT GOVINDARAJAN SUKUMARAN
I have over 25 years of experience in electrical engineering, focusing on high-voltage substations up to 220kV. My work has included installation, testing, commissioning, and design across projects in India, Qatar, and the UAE. I’m currently working as a Senior Manager at Tractebel, overseeing major electrical infrastructure projects. Over the years, I’ve handled substation projects for clients such as Kahramaa, DEWA, and FEWA. I’ve led on-site teams, reviewed technical designs, and ensured systems are delivered according to standards and site-specific conditions. My responsibilities have included improving equipment uptime, reducing faults, and managing project documentation in line with FEED and regulatory requirements. I hold a first-class degree in Electrical and Electronics Engineering and I am UPDA certified in Qatar. I speak English, Tamil, and Hindi, which supports effective collaboration across teams and regions.
