About John Dixon
My time in the Aerospace Industry helped me to understand that the future of business and society is in Space, and that I needed to be a part of solving the foundational and sustainability issues in our current society so that we do not recreate them once we make the inevitable jump to the stars. I have had the opportunity to support and lead the development of multiple engineering systems and business capabilities. A repeated factor in all programs was the un-realized impact of sustainability in all programs - premature component failure for valves used in the testing of biologics, extending life limits for structures on a human rate module for the ISS, Maintenance, Repair, and Overhaul for a Rocket Engine. Developing a product for initial release is the hurdle that receives the most attention, but being able to keep the product functioning in life for as long as possible is a mountain in and of itself. While my focus has been in the development and implementation of products and processes, I am also an AS9100D certified auditor, working to obtain and maintain the Quality systems and standards necessary to confidently deliver world class launch vehicles and engines. Through my role as auditor, I get to work closely with all business units and functional groups to ensure successful enactment and continuous improvement for a successful engineering business, as well as how to effectively create and implement a Standardized Process based Management System.
