ABOUT ANDREW DAVIES

After years as a founder helping big organisations make ambitious things happen with brands like easyJet and Dyson, I’ve turned my attention to something I’ve always cared deeply about — mountain biking, and the people and places that make it possible. More than a sport, it’s become an obsession with how trails can do good: strengthening communities, supporting wellbeing, and caring for the landscapes they run through.Since Covid, I’ve made the Forest of Dean my mountain biking home. What began as lending a hand with the local Dean Trail Volunteers (DTV) has grown into a deeper commitment — applying years of experience leading teams to my role as Trustee Dig Coordinator. I’ve seen how trails can connect people, lift wellbeing, widen inclusion, and protect the landscapes that give us so much.I’m now focused on growing DTV’s Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) programme — helping local and national companies turn good intentions into muddy boots and lasting impact. As a registered charity with years of experience running volunteer events, we make it easy for teams to get involved. You can expect a well-organised day of hard work, a real sense of achievement, and plenty of mud to show for it. The same complex systems principles that once helped global brands deliver value can now help deliver social value across the UK’s trail network — supporting communities, volunteers, and the landscapes that connect them.Everywhere I go, I see the same spark — people coming together around their local trails, turning passion into purpose. There’s huge possibility in connecting these grounded, place-attached groups into a wider network that helps communities thrive. When the energy of volunteers meets a little structure and shared intent, good things don’t just happen — they scale. That’s the space I care about working in: helping turn local commitment into lasting public good.
