   Bioregen is a third-party testing laboratory for the supplements industry. I was the first employee and built the laboratory from the beginning. Our customers send us their products in the corresponding bottles or flasks as they sell them to the public. In return, we create a certificate of analysis for each product. The Certificate of Analysis is usually published online where the product is sold. This implies that at Bioregen I develop methods of analysis involving the extraction of the active ingredients and using the Orbitrap Q Exactive coupled with a Vanquish Flex UHPLC to determine small molecules, proteins, and peptides. With this data, I prepare the Certificates of Analysis containing the chromatograms and electro-spray ionization mass spectra corresponding to each analyte on the product\'s label. As part of this process, we have to engage in a bibliographic search for each of the active ingredients to provide the CAS number, the molecular formula, and the molecular mass of the component. At Bioregen we have a library of standards to prepare calibration curves for quantitative analysis. The majority of the active ingredients in the samples are peptides and proteins and we have to reach companies that synthesize peptides to request pure samples. Currently we are working on a system of documents to eventually accomplish the ISO17025 accreditation.
