ABOUT GORDON PEELING
Has been a Board member of the: Mining Association of Canada (and member of the Executive Committee 19••••11) Canadian Mining Hall of Fame (and a past chair) Mineral Economic Management Society In the international sphere, Gordon has chaired the Raw Materials Committee of the Business and Industry Advisory Committee to the OECD from 2002 until stepping down in October 2011; he was the First Vice President of the Sociedad Interamericana de Minera (an association of 11 mining associations of the Americas) and held this position from the inception of the organization in until June 2011. He is a past member of the Council of the International Council on Mining and Metals (ICMM) and past chair of the Associations Coordination Group of ICMM. Other advisory functions: member of curriculum advisory panels to Carleton University (regulatory affairs), Ryerson University (resource specialization at the Bachelor of Commerce level), and the Schulich School of Business of York University (specialization in the extractive resource industries at the MBA level). He is also a member of the Advisory Panel to the Ottawa Chapter of the Institute for Corporate Governance. He has been a member of numerous advisory bodies to various governmental departments on sustainable development, environment, corporate social responsibility and trade (Environment Canada, Natural Resources Canada, Department of Foreign Affairs and International Trade). Specialties: Resource policy and regulatory affairs, corporate social responsibility, corporate governance, government relations, commodity trade and resource development issues.
