ABOUT GORDON GRAY

Gordon Gray is an experienced Highways & Infrastructure Engineer and Associate Director with over 24 years of experience in the design, project management and coordination of a wide range of highway and infrastructure projects in the UK. Gordon has a broad range of experience in all aspects of highways and infrastructure projects ranging from new construction in green field sites to upgrading and redevelopment of congested urban/industrial areas. Gordon was the Contract Manager for the A96 Hardmuir to Fochabers dualling scheme, responsible for leading a multidisciplinary team of Engineers, Consultants and Specialists through the development of design options of a 46km dual carriageway project, for progression through the statutory process.Gordon was the Design Manager for Stage 5 (detailed) design of the A47 North Tuddenham to Easton Dualling project, a 9.5km offline dual carriageway in Norfolk. In this role, Gordon was responsible for the delivery of for construction packages in line with National Highways Project Control Framework A Fellow of the Chartered Institution of Highways and Transportation, Gordon takes a keen interest in the personal development of others and is a Technical Reviewer for Professional Reviews with the CIHT. Gordon is also a Supervising Civil Engineer for the Institution of Civil Engineers for a number of graduates on ICE training agreements within the Sweco team.Gordon has gained extensive experience as the Road Design Lead on the £415m M8 M73 M74 Motorway Improvements and Road design lead on the £30m A737 Dalry Bypass Scheme and a series of WS2+1 overtaking lane schemes on the A9 (total construction value of £10 million).Gordon has appeared as an expert witness for Transport Scotland at the Public Local Inquiry for the A737 Dalry Bypass. He has also appeared as expert witness for Falkirk Council at the Court of Session, EdinburghGordon was a key member of the procurement team for the M8 M73 M74 Motorway Improvements scheme, working closely with Transport Scotland Construction Branch in the delivery of this DBFO contract – participating in dialogue meetings as Roads Lead, and coordinating the review of dialogue submissions.He has gained further experience as an Infrastructure Design Engineer, delivering outline and detailed designs for substation and wind farm sites throughout Scotland.
