Deliver Return Manager
Feb 2018 — Present · VA, US
As the Deliver/Return Team Manager for the USAID Global Health Supply Chain - Procurement and Supply Management (GHSC-PSM) project, I oversee the 4PL model for managing freight forwarding requirements for all project commodities. This role is crucial in USAID\'s efforts to procure and provide health commodities, improve supply chain management in partner countries, and collaborate with key international stakeholders to support global health initiatives. My responsibilities include coordinating teams involved in third-party logistics, freight forwarding, and procurement to ensure efficient delivery and return of health commodities. I provide daily oversight of the Deliver/Return team, determining action plans and resolving issues. I track shipments, analyze data, and advise on documentation for shipping and importation, ensuring timely and accurate information distribution.I assess the feasibility, cost-effectiveness, and timing of shipment consolidation, arranging secure and cost-effective transportation of goods to recipients or warehouses. I also manage the return process for items from GHSC clients, including verification, authorization, and disposition. My role involves compiling and assessing monthly performance reports on 3PL Freight Forwarders and warehouse providers, coordinating with other departments to prioritize shipments, and producing reports for Task Order Directors and stakeholders. I identify and solve delivery problems, conduct reviews of freight-forwarding practices, and present monthly metrics to USAID on 3PL and 4PL performance.Additionally, I provide short-term technical assistance and capacity building to field offices, assist with logistics training on Incoterms, and complete technical assignments in countries like DRC and Kenya. This position requires a comprehensive understanding of global health supply chains and the ability to manage complex logistics operations in challenging environments.
