ABOUT GORD MILLER

With extensive experience as a senior leader and executive, I enjoy creating strategy and converting it to executable operating plans. I have found that the success of strategic execution includes communicating the strategy throughout the organisation, ensuring the team is ready to execute, committing to the strategic outcomes and tracking your progress with KPIs. I have success in building high performing teams. Whether transforming an under performing team to an over achieving team, taking a high performing team to the next level, or creating a purpose-built team, the keys are the same and include communicating our objectives, creating ownership of the outcomes, learning quickly from challenges and supporting each other with our stretch goals. Inspired teams don’t realize their full potential until after they have arrived, often beyond their expectations. Known for getting it done, as a leader I thrive on solving the complex issues by taking in all the information, identifying the opportunity and driving to a solution. An action-oriented leader, I am able to move at a quick pace and make decisions even when the outcome is not completely clear. Having led safety as a Chief Safety Officer, I believe that safety is not a process to follow or a procedure to complete, but a habit that must be created in all of us. When safety is in our subconscious it becomes part of who we are and this drives the safety culture.
