Deploying ML-based defect detection systems in the Amazon fulfillment network,evolved our flagship product from a proof-of-concept to production deployments in75 fulfillment centers worldwide (North America, Europe, Australia), processing upto 16.8 million pieces of inventory per day.• Root-caused employee workflow compliance issues, implemented a new analytics pipeline to continuously measure the impact, and coordinated UI/UX, operations and process engineering orgs to drive training and workflow improvements (ongoing work).• Evaluated new hardware platforms, and wrote Director-level Critical Design Review document gating 1.5 million dollars of procurement.• Tech lead for edge-compute team, managing roadmap and priorities, ensuring delivery on time with high quality.• Rearchitected our system to minimize costs by moving compute from AWS to edge machines with spare capacity, making our product financially viable.• Led significant redesign of our alpha architecture, reducing our system’s latency by 50%, improving reliability, and reducing operational costs.• Designed and implemented a critical service for retrieving aggregated inventory metadata, which processes up to 983 million events per day.• Designed and implemented a service that automatically produces up to 16.8 million ground-truth labels per day for inventory analyzed during the fulfillment process.
