Most of my duties andresponsibilities include- Conducting initial and ongoing assessments of patients\' conditions, including vital signs, pain levels, and overall health- Recognizing signs of deterioration and responding quickly to changes in patient status- Safely administering medications, including IV drugs, pain management, and emergency drugs- Following prescribed treatment plans and monitoring for side effects or adverse reactions- Responding to medical emergencies, such as cardiac arrest or respiratory distress, using advanced life support techniques- Performing interventions like CPR, airway management, and wound care- Collaborating with doctors, specialists, and other nurses to ensure continuity of care- Communicating critical patient updates and participating in medical rounds- Teaching patients about their conditions, medications, and post-discharge care- Providing emotional support and guidance to family members during critical situations- Recording patient progress, treatments, and any changes in condition in electronic health records (EHRs)- Ensuring legal and ethical documentation of all care provided- Following infection prevention protocols to reduce hospital-acquired infections- Ensuring a safe environment for patients, such as preventing falls or pressure ulcers- Assisting with or conducting procedures such as wound dressings, catheter insertions, phlebotomy, cannulation and ECGs- Preparing patients for surgery or specialized tests- Assessing and addressing pain management needs, using both pharmacological and non-pharmacological methods- Ensuring patient comfort and dignity, especially in palliative care situations- Supporting discharge planning, ensuring patients have the necessary support and follow-up care- Referring patients to home health services, rehabilitation, or specialized care as needed.
